Travel Accessories You NEED For Your Next Trip!
Whether you're a regular jetsetter or a newbie to travel, these items are worth having! Here is some advice from things I have learned while traveling.
MAKE-UP
When I travel I always opt for a large makeup bag. I'd so much rather have all of my items in one bag than have to separate/risk eye shadow pallets breaking and getting on clothes... (yes, i've been there!) I've tagged three different options here. The two fun patterned one's and then a terrycloth one that comes in other colors!
TOILETRIES
If you're going to stay in a hotel, forget them at home! It makes the trip so much easier. If you're going somewhere longterm, staying in an Airbnb, or visiting friends/family, get a toiletry kit. The one I linked for you will only allow you to bring the appropriate amount for flying. This means no mess, and no measuring! It also comes with a bag that can be washed out and labels so you have no questions once you get to your destination.
SHOES
Eeeeep.. I am THAT girl that has blisters all over her feet on vacation. Gross, I know.. I just loveeee to discover new places by walking (and saving by using fewer ubers/public transportation). If you're going to a big city, or even if you're not.. (airports are huge) you will want to wear some comfy sneakers. I always wear them to the airport. These two options that I chose are both comfortable and stylish to go with whatever type of outfit you opt for.
JEWELRY
I remember taking a family trip one year and my Aunt looking at me with a face that screamed "get it together" when I pulled out a giant Ziploc filled with my tangled up jewelry. I was bummed. Like HOW could a car ride turn all of my necklaces into a knot. Not going to lie, some of them got thrown out after months of trying to untangle. Trust me when I say these jewelry organizers are worth it! I have a foldable/hangable version that I use at home, but I think these smaller variations are perfect for trips that are overnight all the way until up to a couple of weeks! There is a binder version that saves you space and a box version that I have that is really helpful as well.
PACKING CUBES
Let's be real.. I don't always use these. BUT I do prefer them on longer trips to keep things compact. When I've gone overseas I choose packing cubes because you can pack up outfits for different parts of your trip, and also while you're there, you can separate what's dirty and clean.
PASSPORT CASES
Our American passports are navy. Why do I bring this up? They get lots in bags. Let's face it, if you're going overseas you probably have a lot of stuff going through your head at once when at the airport. So, get a bright passport case so you can easily spot your passport at all times.
LUGGAGE/BAGS
I've never had an Away bag or any of the super trendy ones with batteries or extra perks, but I love a Tumi bag and tend to go for not the most expensive and no the least expensive. In my opinion, luggage simply doesn't last. It get's slung around and banged up..it's inevitable. SO - these bags are great options! A personal favorite - NEOPRENE! I have their backpack, too.
